Dapitan Participates in Dive Resort and Travel Show TAIWAN 2016

Dapitan City is leveling up with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Department of Tourism in their strong bid to position the country as the next diving destination for the world to visit as it again send a team from the local government and from Dakak Park and Beach Resort as the featured and sole resort in the city that offers various diving packages . Both departments allocated big chunks of their budget participating in world wide expositions for aquatic and diving destinations but only promote those resorts in Luzon and Visayas which are already popular in the diving community. Its a sad fact that we discovered during our participation in DRT Show Hongkong 2015. But despite that, we didnt let such discouragement kill our spirits to market Dapitan. The fact that our booth was situated at the back encouraged us to give all our efforts to attract attendees of DRT Show Hongkong 2015. And our concerted efforts there paid off! The international divers started to arrive here in Dapitan since January.. Indeed we are hoping that Dapitan City will attract some more and maintain momentum hoping that both Departments mentioned above will take notice to include us in their promotions since continuity in marketing and promotions is what we need to sustain tourists arrivals in Dapitan City.

On April 25, 2016, the Philippines was referred to as the “apex of the South East Asian Coral triangle." The iPhilippine Consulate General and the Department of Tourism New York (PDOT) participated at the 2016 Beneath the Sea Travel Show which was held at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ from April 01 to 03 to promote internationally-acclaimed dive and aquatic spots in the Philippines.

It is our fervent hope that with the start of the new adrministration of incoming President Rodrigo R. Duterte, the big and promising island of Mindanao will finally be given the development it truly deserves!
